Some carpet isn’t good for the environment if it is dumped in landfill, however the people of Devon can now go greener and this is because the majority of the County Council’s recycling centres in Devon can now recycle your old carpet.  Carpet recycling started in May 2012 after SITA UK took over running the recycling centres that can process old carpet.  Over the last month approximately 60 tonnes of carpet has been recycled, which previously would have gone to landfill. Once the carpet has been recycled it is used for various industries.
