3rd February ‘09 - Carpetright see 9% fall in profits.

Carpetright publised results in January 2009 for its Interim Management Statement which showed group sales decreased by 9.0% for the 13
weeks to 31 January 2009.
Lord Harris, said: "The UK trading environment is
more difficult than at any time in my working life”.

2nd February ‘09 - Carpet recycling on the rise.

Carpet Recycling UK was setup in March 2008 and
is backed by a group of UK carpet manufacturers
and suppliers to the retail sector. Its main mission is to get the used carpets away from local landfill’s.
Their target is to recycle 20,000 tonnes of carpet per
year by mid 2009, we hope they acheive this.
