Victoria Carpets reports just over 80% drop in profits.

Reports suggest that the actual figure is around 84%, and is being put down to the adverse market conditions, and the most effected areas being Ireland and Canada.
The UK has not been as poor, with revenue down just over 10%, from £12.44 million to £11.1 million.

Ulster Carpets set to expand.

Ulster is looking to expand in to the Middle East as part of an effort to drive new markets for the company.
Ulster employs around 400 people, and has invested in some new offices in Dubai to manage the growth. Elaine Patterson at Ulster Carpets commented that Ulster Carpets has always been a global leader in the luxury hotel sector, given their ability to produce high quality, flooring solutions this sounds like a great push.

Carpetright stands to benefit from Allied down size.

The low performance and downsizing of its main competitor Allied Carpets should drive sales growth for Carpetright.
It is expected to acquire about 30% of the 50 stores available after the failure of its biggest rival Allied Carpets.
